CampOUT IV, July 10th-13th, 2008, Walton, West Virginia, USA: Our First
CampOUT at Long Fork was a wild success! We had fourty-two people in
attendance, and five vendors. There were; nineteen workshops/demos,
QUEER Jeopardy, the Screw Your Neighbor Auction, and a Leather Swap
Meet during dinner one night. In fact people said we might wanna edit
a little. One thing that was a hit was the pool and hot tub at Long
Fork. Everyday our attendees wandered over there to cool off and meet
other people vacationing at Long Fork, but not attending CampOUT (read
cruise the RV people.) We set up a dungeon outdoors that doubled as
the classroom during the day. The big barn at the front of the camping
area was our kitchen and cafeteria, plus the studio for Bek our favorite
tattoo artist.
Uniform Fetish Bar Night at the Ripcord in Toledo, OH January 26th, 2008: What a great night! There was a big basket for a door prize, jell-o shots, and a contest for the best uniform. The prize went to our friend Geno of LIFE Detroit, he received a gift card to Dick's sporting goods. While I would have loved to see more people in uniform we still had a ton of fun and made some much needed funds. CampOUT III, July 26th-29th, 2007, Needmore, Indiana, USA: Our Last CampOUT at Lothlorien was a good one. We had Mistress Simone, Raven Kaldera, his boy Joshua, and Ms. Andrea North as presenters. Miles Newman was patched as a full member of LaGarou, and Ms. Andrea North was made an Honorary Associate. We had put together an outdoor dungeon that had two St. Andrews Crosses, two spanking benches, and a campfire. We had our annual meeting, a coming of age ritual with turkey dinner, and lots of socializing. Bar Night at the Exile in Columbus, OH, April 7, 2007: Our friends at the Exile were great again! Can't wait to come back. As per the usual we had jello- shots, a door prize, and a 50/50 raffle. We had a successful night and look forward to the next time we're at the Exile. WINDY MOON CONCLAVE March 29th thru April 1st, 2007 Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA: LaGarou's winter Conclave was held in conjunction with the FORGE Forward Conference in Milwaukee at the Four Points Sheraton. Our newest Pledge, Miles Newman, helped organize the hospitality suite, and Jake and Dale ran the tables in the vendor area. Ethan was busy networking inside the conference. We held a party Friday night in the suite, but the hotel decided it didn't like it and shut us down. Saturday night we had a bar night at "The Harbor Room" which was ok, but we have seen much better bar nights. LaGarou's first bar night at the Eagle in Exile in Columbus, OH, March 3rd, 2007: The usual bar night mania took place. 50/50 raffle, a door prize, and jell-o shots. Miles our pledge took part in spanking for charity. His butt got whooped by many supporters. All in all it was a success. The Exile (as it is known now) is a great bar. We encourage everyone to go check it out! On Sunday morning everyone went out for brunch before heading for home. CampOUT II July 27th thru 30th 2006, Needmore, Indiana: This was a very good year. We had great attendance, with people arriving from Canada and all over the USA. A mostly new group of people came this year, and of course some old friends too. We had some bad heat, but most everyone found the creek for swimming, and the crawdads and fish found them. We didn't manage to get to the service project, but some work took place. Our first pledge was given a club T-shirt and pledge colors to represent us at leather events taking place in the Northwest and Canada. We expect to initiate him as soon as he makes it to the next meeting. He did a great job volunteering at CampOUT, and displayed character we want to see in all of our members. Dan from CO created and preformed a coming of age ritual for transmen that was a great success. We're looking forward to CampOUT 2007, seeing old friends and new faces. Hope to see YOU there! Trident/Toledo Anniversary Bar Night, July 2006 at the Ripcord in Toledo, Ohio: Jake, Ethan, and Dale represented La Garou at the Trident/Toledo bar night. Just about every club in the area came out and represented. It was held at a private residence in the suburbs of Cleveland out in the countryside. Off in the woods leatherfolk of all kinds drank, ate, and made merry. We met and saw many new faces and were ourselves recognized by many from Ohio Leather Pride. Jake, Ethan, and Dale represented the club, and wore our casual uniforms. Ohio Leather Pride, March 26th 2006 at Daddy's in Akron, Ohio: OLP was sponsored by the clubs NAIL of Cleveland and Iron Eagles of Canton. The event raised funds for the Leather Archives and Museum in Chicago, Illinois. This was a great night that was well planned. We displayed our colors in the parade of colors, and even won prizes in the raffle. We got to meet a prospective pledge and spent the night in the hotel with him. Many faces were placed with people off the web and many new friends and connections were made. The clubs of Ohio really came out for this and made it a success. Wild Moon Conclave February 17th thru 20th 2006, Chicago, Illinois: Our first Conclave took place in winter 2006. We had our second national meeting on Saturday at Ann Sather's restaurant located on Belmont Ave in Boystown. At the meeting, we discussed the operating documents. Saturday night we had a play party for the club that was well attended and many people who met at CampOUT 2005 got to see each other again. On Sunday we had our first club beer bust at Touché Leather Bar in the Rodgers Park neighborhood of Chicago. It was lots of fun. We had a 50/50 raffle to benefit TYRA, the Trans Youth Resources and Advocacy program. Our special guests were Mr. Northwoods 2005-2006, Peter Loomans, and Mr. Northwoods 2004-2005, Stephen Seefeldt. CampOUT, July 28th thru 31st 2005, Needmore, Indiana: Our first CampOUT took place in Needmore, Indiana at Lothlorien Nature Sanctuary, July 28th thru July 31st. There were participants from all over the US. We had our first formal meeting, and as a result it was decided that the operating documents would be finalized at our winter meeting. The popular activities were swimming in the creek, playing black jack, a boots and boxers party, and nightly campfires. Our service project for the sanctuary was helping with the site preparation to erect the dome in Thunder Shrine. We weeded, set stones, dug trenches, poured sand, and got really hot and sweaty. |
